The fine print, kept friendly.

Friendly Intelligence helps you stay close to the people who matter. Use it kindly and for its intended purpose, keep your account secure, and your data stays yours. We provide the app as-is and do our best to keep it running well. You can stop using it and delete your data anytime.

You need to be an adult (at least 18, or the age of majority where you live) to use Friendly Intelligence. During our invite-only period you’ll also need a valid, single-use invite code to create an account. Please give accurate information when you sign up, and keep one account per person.

You’re responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details safe. If you think someone else has accessed your account, let us know right away so we can help. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or put other people or the service at risk.

By using Friendly Intelligence, you agree not to:

• break the law, or use the app to harass, harm, or deceive anyone;
• try to access accounts or data that aren’t yours, or probe, scrape, or disrupt the service;
• reverse-engineer, resell, or build a competing product out of the app, except where the law expressly allows it;
• misuse invite codes, or share access in ways meant to get around invite-only signup.

The connections you add, the moments you log, and the notes you write belong to you. To run the app, you give us permission to store, sync, and process that content for the sole purpose of providing Friendly Intelligence to you — nothing more. How we handle your data is spelled out in our Privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

Friendly Intelligence is evolving, and we may add, change, or remove features over time. Some features — like the on-device intelligence — run on a Mac and depend on your own device and data. We don’t guarantee the app will always be available or error-free, and occasionally we may need to interrupt it for maintenance or updates.

Friendly Intelligence is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. The suggestions and drafts the app offers are aids, not advice — you decide what to send and to whom. To the extent the law permits, we aren’t liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of the app, and nothing here limits rights you have that can’t be waived.

You can stop using Friendly Intelligence at any time, and deleting your account removes your data from our systems. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or to protect other users or the service. Sections that should reasonably survive — like the content, disclaimer, and liability terms — continue to apply afterward.

If we make a meaningful change to these terms, we’ll update this page and refresh the date above. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated terms.
